The Australian Embassy provides a range of consular services. Passport and notarial services at the Embassy in Brussels are offered by appointment only. These are contained in the Australian Government’s Consular Service Charter. Our area of responsibilities covers both Belgium and Luxembourg.

Passports and Notarial Services

Passport and notarial services at the Embassy in Brussels are offered by appointment only. Appointments are available from Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 12:00hrs. They can be arranged in advance by phoning the Embassy on +32 (0) 2 286 0500 or

Smartraveller has the latest, authoritative travel advice so you can be informed and prepared about overseas travel. Subscribe to receive travel advice updates through email by simply supplying your name and email address.

You can now also subscribe to the new SMS service - by supplying your mobile number – to receive critical alerts in the event of a crisis overseas.

In a crisis, Smartraveller will activate a crisis page on its website. It will make it easier for you or someone you know to contact the Australian Government if you need help. It will supplement the consular emergency hotline.

Child Maintenance International Enforcement 

The Child Support Agency of Australia has developed factsheets to assist parents with international child support issues. The factsheets are available online and provide information for parents to manage child support arrangements when one parent resides outside Australia.

The Child Support Agency has arrangements with countries for the reciprocal enforcement of child maintenance orders. A list of the reciprocating jurisdictions is available online  as well.

It was officially registered as a non-profit organisation following the merger of the business orientated Belgian branch of Australian Business In Europe (ABIE),and the Australia Society Belgium.
